From his humble beginnings as a child to being rescued from the hands of death by his God given mother, Emma Jean Taylor, God's hands have been on his life. Recognizing that call, Mother Taylor taught and nurtured Donald in the things of God. While attending O Perry Walker High School, Donald walked the hallways carrying a bible and held his first bible study class. Donald loved sharing the good news with his classmates and teachers.
In 1984, God gave Donald a vision for Jesus Is Lord Evangelistic Ministry, which made him realize God had a plan for his life. Al though the vision came to him in 1984, it would be ten years of sacrifice, service, and being molded on the potter's wheel, before the world would be introduced to the anointing saturating his life. It was only befitting that after such sacrifice, the Lord provided an opportunity for him to speak to the City of New Orleans on the first Jesus Is Lord Radio Broadcast on K-75 AM.
From that moment, there was no turning back. Every opportunity he had, he ministered. He became a faithful servant under the leadership of his Spirit al Father, Pastor Ray T. Iglehart at Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ. It was there where God continued the call on His life. As God directed his life, Donald would later join Life Center Cathedral Church under the leadership of Bishop J. D. Wiley. Life Center is where God used him to serve the man of God in the capacity of Presiding Elder and gave him the opportunity to witness firsthand all that would be required of him as a Pastor. Here he felt the hand of God move on his life, pushing him into his destiny.
On May 23, 2003, Bishop Wiley publicly released Donald Williams and those who wanted to leave with his blessings. On August 4, 2003, JILEM held their first service at the Holiday Inn Hotel at 100 West Bank Expressway, Gretna, Louisiana. In September 2003 the first Celebration in the Word Bible Study was held at Pastor Williams' home.
Jesus Is Lord worshipped at the Holiday Inn until April of 2004. In that same month, April 2004 Jesus is Lord moved into our current location, 1728 Hancock Street.
